What was your journey into music like?
I started music when I was five years old. For some people, it’s a dream, but for me, it’s an ability from birth. I joined the junior choir at the age of 10 because I love music and everything about it. The then choir leader discovered something special in me, and since then, I have been on the journey of making good music, singing songs unto the Lord, and blessing humanity.
What inspires your music?
Many times, it is the Holy Spirit of God that inspires the music I produce. The Word of God, which is the Bible, can inspire me to make good music when I am studying it or praying on the mountain.
What challenges did you face on your way to stardom?
I have faced different types of challenges. They range from people not believing in you to not getting the right support or a good promoter. But in Christ, I have peace. Each time, I feel strengthened by scripture. It helped me overcome.
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
My type of music is rooted in the Christian faith, bringing people closer to God and encouraging them that whatever they are passing through is only for a while. It blesses and lifts their souls. The music I produce often features strong vibes, rich harmony, and instruments like local drums, guitars, pianos, and backup arrangements.
How do you juggle being a singer and a producer?
It has not been easy, but by God’s grace, I have been able to do both. I make music, and I also sing. Someone can make music, but cannot sing it as well. It is a blessing from God for me, and I am grateful to God Almighty for giving me the grace.
Has stardom deprived you of anything?
Let me say this: during Easter and Christmas holidays, when I am supposed to stay with my precious family, I may be somewhere else ministering and not with my family during those periods. Apart from that, I can’t remember anything else apart from the stress.
Are you still friends with those who were with you before stardom?
Yes, of course, I still keep my friends.
What is the favourite song you love to perform anytime?
It’s from my second album, Sweet Jesus. I perform it everywhere I go.
What is your advice to up-and-coming musicians?
I would advise them to remain focused, pray, and not lose focus. The sky will be their starting point. They should remain focused and hardworking. I believe everything is possible by God’s grace.
What project are you currently working on?
I’m working on some singles that will be coming out anytime from now.
