Liverpool returned to winning ways with a dominant 4-0 win over Galatasaray in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Arne Slot’s side are through to a quarterfinal against Paris Saint-Germain next month and must now address their ailing Premier League form.

The Reds have taken one point from two games in March so far, with a defeat to Wolves and draw against Tottenham standing as dispiriting setbacks in the battle for a top-four spot.

Brighton welcome Liverpool this weekend, having lost twice to them already this season, without scoring a goal. Nevertheless, one of the visitors’ most notable goal threats will have to sit out the trip to the Amex Stadium.

Liverpool injury and suspension list

Below is the latest injury picture for Liverpool, including estimated return dates for those who are sidelined.

Mohamed Salah

  • Expected return date: April 4 (vs. Man City)

Salah looked back to his best form against Galatasaray, despite having a first-half penalty saved. He was involved in goals for Hugo Ekitie and Ryan Gravenberch before scoring a magnificent fourth for the hosts at Anfield. However, he was forced off during the closing stages and Slot confirmed he will miss the Brighton match and Egypt’s forthcoming internationals.

He’s not available for tomorrow,” Slot said before the Brighton game. “The good thing for Liverpool and for us is that we go to an international break. The bad thing for Egypt is that he can’t go there.”

“We are hoping also with what Mo has shown in the past that he can recover faster than other players might in similar situations because he takes such good care of his body. History has shown that he can be earlier back than some others. But it’s only two weeks when we go again so let’s hope in that period of time he can be back.”

Alexander Isak

  • Expected return date: April 4 (vs. Man City)

Alexander Isak was struggling to make an impact in his first few months at Anfield, and his woes worsened when he suffered a broken leg while scoring the opening goal in Liverpool’s win over Tottenham on December 23.

Isak was back doing outdoor training towards the end of February but had not yet started working with a ball. Sweden’s World Cup playoff semifinal against Ukraine on March 26 could be a target for the former Newcastle man.

Arne Slot confirmed in late February that the plan is for Isak to return to training in late March or early April, but he will need time to ramp back up to full fitness. He is expected to be back after the March international break.

Wataru Endo

  • Expected return date: May

Endo required oxygen on the pitch before being carried off on a stretcher in the Sunderland game. Slot later said the Japan captain had a serious-looking injury to his left foot or ankle, which is likely to rule him out for “a long, long time.”

The injury is believed to be a broken foot, as Virgil van Dijk said he dealt with “a similar injury back when I was with Southampton.” If that’s the case, Endo is likely to be out for much of the remainder of the season, although he could return in time to get ready for the World Cup this summer, where he is expected to be a key member of Japan.

Conor Bradley

  • Expected return date: August 2026

Bradley hurt himself when clearing the ball into touch in the closing stages of the draw at Emirates Stadium. He was taken off on a stretcher in some distress, and the club later confirmed he requires surgery on what was described as a “significant” knee injury. The Northern Ireland international will miss the rest of this season after sustaining bone and ligament damage.

Giovanni Leoni

  • Injury: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear

  • Expected return date: August 2026

Summer signing Leoni suffered a nightmare debut as he horrifically tore an ACL against Southampton. The Italian defender underwent immediate surgery and his campaign has already been cruelly ended.

Stefan Bajcetic

  • Expected return date: May 2026

Bajcetic has not played this season due to injury and needed hamstring surgery back in January. It is hoped he will return in 2025/26, but Slot has stated that “as much as I’d like to have him back, we have to manage the expectations with him as well.”
