Anthony Edwards is in the midst of another big year for the Minnesota Timberwolves. The four-time All-Star has made 58 appearances for the Wolves so far this season. He is currently averaging a career-high 29.5 points on 49.2% shooting, to go along with 5.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.4 steals in 35.5 minutes per contest. Edwards is also knocking down 3.4 triples per game on a highly efficient 40.2% clip.
Edwards, however, has recently been sidelined by a knee injury. He has missed four straight games due to inflammation in his right knee.
ESPN’s Shams Charania provided an update on Edwards’ status on Wednesday, and it’s good news for the Timberwolves.

Thanks in part to Edwards’ strong play, Minnesota has a 44-28 record as of writing. The Wolves are fifth in the Western Conference and are strengthening their grip on a top-six finish and a guaranteed playoff spot.
They are now set to get a massive boost with Edwards’ imminent return. The Wolves are in action on Wednesday, and Edwards has already been ruled out. However, according to Charania, the 6-foot-4 shooting guard could return in Minnesota’s next game.
“I’m told that the Timberwolves will be evaluating Anthony Edwards day to day moving forward, so he could return as soon as Saturday’s game against the Pistons at home or Monday in Dallas,” Charania said.
“So what he’s been dealing with, from my understanding, is really soreness, some fluid, some inflammation in his knee. He needed treatment to get some of the fluid out of that knee.”
Charania went on to explain that Edwards’ rehab has been going well.
“Now he is progressing,” Charania continued. “He’s starting to do more and more on the court. All parties involved here are optimistic that he is trending in the right direction over the next several days.”
