President Bola Tinubu on Thursday arrived in Lagos State to observe the Good Friday holiday.
His arrival followed a visit to Jos, Plateau State, where he commiserated with victims and families affected by the recent deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba, which claimed 29 lives and left many others injured.
The President’s aircraft touched down Thursday night at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, where he was welcomed with drums and songs.
Video footage posted by NTA shows that he was received by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, alongside other top government officials and dignitaries.
In Jos, the President met with bereaved families, traditional leaders, and senior government officials.
He ordered the deployment of 5,000 surveillance cameras and directed security agencies to track down and apprehend those responsible for the killings.
While in Lagos, Tinubu is expected to commission key infrastructure projects executed by the administration of Sanwo-Olu as part of the Easter period activities.
A statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, disclosed that on Saturday, April 4, Tinubu will travel to Ogun State to commission the Gateway International Cargo Airport and inaugurate two commercial aircraft designated for the export and import of goods.
He is also expected to inaugurate the new headquarters of the Federal Operations Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service.
The President will subsequently return to Lagos to continue his Easter holiday before proceeding to Bayelsa State on April 10 to commission completed projects executed by the administration of Governor Douye Diri, ahead of his return to Abuja.
