Four years ago, Dan Patrick announced he was embarking on an epically long retirement tour that would end after Super Bowl LXII in Atlanta in 2028.
Before his show ends, Chris “Mad Dog” Russo made him an offer he couldn’t refuse.
Russo was a guest on The Dan Patrick Show on Friday, and the two were getting along so well that Patrick pondered whether they should do a show together at some point. The SiriusXM host and ESPN talking head immediately pitched Patrick on an idea to do a “home-and-home” with one another’s shows before he retires.

“Let’s make a deal,” said Russo. “That’s a long way off. It’s a year and a half, but sometime in the next 18 months, I’ll come where you are and I’ll co-host with you. And you’ll come to Sirius, and you will co-host with me.
“And if you want to do it at a big event, we could do it at a big event. You want to do it at the Super Bowl. You want to do it at something like that, we could do it. You pick the time… I will do the whole show. Okay, not 10 minutes. And you come to me, and we’ll do me first because it’s your show and you are retiring. So we’ll do me first, and then I’ll go do you. How’s that?”
And so it was written. Look for The Dan & Dog Show coming soon for two times only! The only question now is whether or not Stephen A. Smith finds a way to horn in on this somehow.
