Israel’s military has said it attacked another Iranian petrochemical site, this time in the southwestern city of Shiraz.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the facility was used to produce nitric acid, which Iran uses to make explosives and is key for its ballistic missile programs.
Israel’s defense minister, Israel Katz, had said on Sunday the IDF had “powerfully struck the largest petrochemical facility in Iran,” identified as a site in the southern city of Asaluyeh.
The previous day, Israel struck a petrochemical site in Mahshahr, part of western Iran close to its border with Iraq.
