While you’ll come across a wide variety of locked doors and containers while making your way through Resident Evil Requiem, few can be quite as tricky to figure out as the briefcase you encounter while exploring the S.T.A.R.S. Office on the upper floor of R.P.D. during the back half of the game. But it’s worth opening for a really useful charm that will assist Leon in combat going forward, so you’ve come to the right place.
There’s a specific combination that can be revealed by following a handful of steps within R.P.D., and we’ll explain how to do so. Of course, if you’re just here for the solution, you can skip the steps to finding it and just check for the combination so you can get straight to opening the briefcase and snagging the loot inside. Let’s get into it.
How To Find The Briefcase Combination In Resident Evil Requiem
Barry’s To-Do List And Captain Wesker’s Hidden Library Card
To begin looking for the briefcase combination, step out of the locker room containing the briefcase and check a nearby desk in the main S.T.A.R.S. Office room for Barry’s To-Do List. Notice it mentions a missing library book that the captain checked out last.
From here, enter Captain Wesker’s office (directly left of the locker room holding the briefcase). Open the drawer of his desk to find that it’s empty. Interact with it again, however, and a Library Card will fall out. This mentions a book named The Medicinal Benefits of Herbs. Looks like we’re headed to the library!
The Library And The Medicinal Benefits Of Herbs
You’ll now need to find the book titled The Medicinal Benefits of Herbs, so make your way over to the library down the hall. You can find the book on the second floor of the library.
When you open the book, you’ll be presented with a photo you can interact with. Do so, then note it says “Rising Rookie Rebecca”. With that information in hand, it’s now time to head back to the briefcase.
Briefcase Combination And How To Open It
To open the briefcase, you’ll need to enter a 3-digit combination by moving each tile up or down. When you’ve entered the combination, press the interact button to confirm. If the combination is correct, the briefcase will open.
The correct code is “R-R-R”, using the first letter of each word in the code “Rising Rookie Rebecca,” as found within the library book.
For solving this puzzle, you’ll receive the Power Shades Charm for Leon. You can apply this to your Requiem firearm to grant it limitless bullet penetration and increased power for the final bullet in the cylinder. This makes the already powerful Requiem even more useful against bosses you’ll encounter during the last few sections of the game, so it’s a good thing you took the time to figure out the briefcase’s combination.
