UMkhumbane Secondary principal suspended as CCTV dispute disrupts classes ahead of assessments

Teaching and learning at uMkhumbane Secondary School in Mayville, Durban, have been disrupted once again following the summary suspension of principal Ntokozo Ngobese. The suspension comes amid ongoing tensions over the installation of CCTV cameras in classrooms, a move opposed by a group of teachers. With matric tests set to begin on March 13, concerned parents and education stakeholders say the prolonged instability is jeopardising learners’ academic progress.
