Kano gov mourns ex-finance commissioner Prof. Dandago

The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of a former Commissioner for Finance and renowned academic, Prof. Kabiru Isa Dandago.

Dandago reportedly died on Wednesday at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital after a brief illness.

The governor’s condolence message was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

Yusuf described the late professor as a dedicated public servant and accomplished scholar whose contributions to education and governance left lasting footprints in Kano State.

According to him, Dandago served the state with integrity and commitment, earning widespread respect for his professionalism, humility and passion for knowledge.

“The death of Prof. Dandago is a huge loss to Kano State. We have lost a valuable son whose experience and wisdom greatly enriched public service and the academic community,” the governor was quoted as saying.

He extended his condolences to the family of the deceased, the academic community and the people of Kano State over what he described as an irreparable loss.

The governor also prayed that Almighty Allah forgive the shortcomings of the late Dandago and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, while giving his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.
