US-based cinnamon roll franchise Cinnaholic has re-deployed Square’s commerce tools across 85 outlets after a brief switch to a competing system.
The plant-based bakery chain ran its business on Square, Block’s inaugural product, for 12 years before spending the past year testing an alternative.
Block’s sales and marketing head Nick Molnar said: “Cinnaholic’s return to Square shows that we’re the right platform to support fast-growing quick service franchises as they expand.”
As part of the redeployment, Cinnaholic has implemented Square’s end-to-end tools, anchored by Square for Franchises, to manage its multi-location operations from a central platform.
Square for Franchises provides “HQ-level visibility” while supporting individual stores with faster checkout and real-time performance data.
For store locations, Cinnaholic has adopted Square Register and Square Stand as its payment and point-of-sale hardware.
The company will also use Square Loyalty to run its rewards initiatives and Square Marketing to handle automated customer communications.
Cinnaholic’s operations vice-president Karen Bustios said: “We grew Cinnaholic on Square, and though we took a break and tried another provider, we realised Square was the right tech solution to continue scaling our business.
“And Square’s platform delivers the reliability, support, and franchise capabilities we need to scale confidently.”
Established in 2010 in Berkeley, California, Cinnaholic has expanded from a single shop to a franchise network across North America.
The company markets its cinnamon rolls as “100% plant-based” and free from dairy, lactose, eggs and cholesterol.
Beyond its current 85 locations, Cinnaholic expects to open ten additional stores in 2026, with another 20 sites reported to be under development.
In January, Vietnamese-American drinks chain 7 Leaves café decided to deploy Square’s commerce tools across its 44 locations in the US.
“Cinnaholic redeploys Square systems across franchise network” was originally created and published by Verdict Food Service, a GlobalData owned brand.
