The MLS champions, Inter Miami, will play another away game in the MLS as they play against D.C. United at the M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland.
Inter Miami have one win and one loss after two league games in the 2026 MLS season so far. D.C. United has the same record after their first two games.
Ahead of the D.C. United vs Inter Miami match tomorrow, D.C. United head coach René Weiler was asked about his plan to stop Lionel Messi and Inter Miami.
Messi already scored two goals and provided an assist in the new season after three goal contributions against Orlando City, where Inter Miami won 4-2 away from home.

René Weiler’s Message to Lionel Messi & Inter Miami
D.C. United head coach René Weiler calls Lionel Messi the best player in the world, which is why he emphasises that the focus will be to try and stop the Inter Miami star in tomorrow’s match.
Weiler said, “Lionel Messi is the best in the world — it’s impossible to truly stop him. The key is not giving him space and defending well as a team. It’s an honor to face Messi, and we’ve prepared for it like an away game.”
The Swiss manager is also focused on the rest of the Inter Miami team and said, ” It’s not just Messi. They won the league and have good players; we must anticipate all situations very quickly. We must defend perfectly or we won’t get a good result.”
