Malik Willis was a reliable backup for the Green Bay Packers ever since joining Lambeau Field as Jordan Love‘s backup in 2024. In the 11 games he played for the franchise, he threw for 350 yards, six touchdowns and three picks. He was also effective on the ground, rushing for 261 yards and three touchdowns.
While he’s only had a limited run with the Packers, the Miami Dolphins liked his raw throwing power and athleticism so much that they offered the former Liberty standout a three-year, $67.5 million contract in the offseason to replace Tua Tagovailoa.
While many were surprised by the news, Willis relishes the opportunity to have another crack at being a starting quarterback again. He gave the Green Bay Packers fans a message as he heads to South Beach to play ball.
Malik Willis Thanks Green Bay Packers Fans in Farewell Message

“Much love and respect to packer nation for supporting us and me for the past 2 years!” he wrote as a caption to a photo of him celebrating with fans. “It has been more than a blessing and i will never forget my time here and the relationships I made!”
