Darlington Goodyear 400 Race Results: Finish Order, Winner, Key Takeaways

The NASCARCup Series Goodyear 400 came to a result today at Darlington Raceway, which saw Tyler Reddick take the checkered flag as the winner. The 23XI Racing team fended off a very strong day out of the RFK Racing duo of Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher. Finishing in third place was a surging Ryan Blaney, with defending Southern 500 champion Chase Briscoe just behind him.

The race day was all about tire falloff, dropping more than two seconds off starting speeds in less than 20 laps to begin each stage. The Goodyear 400 managed to avoid any big cautions — a surprise to many, given the race being projected as one of mayhem at The Lady in Black.

Tyler Reddick wins his fourth race in the six-race season to date. The car was set back early on due to a battery issue, requiring the replacement of the car battery. From then on, the No. 45 car was ultra-fast, blowing past Brad Keselowski halfway through stage three.

Brad Keselowski leaves Darlington disappointed that his 142-lap lead resulted in a 2nd-place finish rather than a 1st-place finish. Nonetheless, the RFK Racing team was very strong today in their Greg Biffle paint schemes, finding Chris Buescher with a 9th-place finish and 13th for Ryan Preece.

Carson Hocevar was the fastest car in the final laps of the race. He has too much time to make up, so he finishes 4th rather than 1st. His Spire Motorsports teammate, Daniel Suarez, also finished strong in 7th.

Race Losers

Bubba Wallace qualified on the front row with Tyler Reddick, but the No. 23 23XI Racing had issues and finished in 34th place — 5 laps down.

Joey Logano qualified slowly and finished slowly in 33rd place — 3 laps down. Luckily for Team Penske, Logano was their only raceday failure with two other top-10 finishers on the three-car team.
