Marvel’s Polarizing Series Was Really A Best-Performing Disney+ Series

While The Multiverse Saga has had its many ups and downs, one Marvel Cinematic Universe TV show that received a lot of negative reception was actually a victory for Marvel Studios.

During an appearance on The Escape Podcast, Brad Winderbaum, who works as the Head of TV, Animation, and Streaming at Marvel Studios, revealed that the Phase 4 series, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, starring Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, was actually one of the most-streamed shows of all time. The Marvel Television executive stated, “I love She-Hulk. I’d love to make more She-Hulk,” as a season 2 renewal never happened. Winderbaum stressed, “I mean, I’ll tell you this about She-Hulk. That’s one of our best-performing shows. It just hit the general audience.”

Something that has been following Hollywood for many years is that whenever a TV or film property, especially in the superhero, fantasy, and sci-fi genres, is headlined by a female lead, it often becomes the target of toxic misogynistic criticism, simply because the focus is on a woman. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law was one of the many recent projects in the MCU timeline, as it became a target of review-bombing on various platforms.

The She-Hulk TV show’s predictions became reality very fast, as many of the concepts in the series were seen heavily throughout social media and reactions. At the time of this story’s publication, the Phase 4 superhero legal dramedy is sitting with 32% on the Popcornmeter on Rotten Tomatoes. On the other hand, the project has a better rating on the Critics’ Score, as it is holding an 80% rating.

Maslany has also been the target of false reports about her having supposedly been fired from Marvel Studios and not being set to return as She-Hulk. The Orphan Black lead had also supposedly “passed” on reprising the role in Avengers: Doomsday, but the actor laughed those comments off in an interview from February 2026, saying, “You’ll never know. I don’t know. Do you know?”

While She-Hulk hasn’t been back in any live-action project since her initial debut in 2022, that is also the case for many new characters that have been introduced recently in the MCU, including Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight. The Multiverse Saga has also been dealing with many changes behind the scenes, from many delays of projects to the complete retooling of various movies and TV shows, as they are now focusing on finishing Phase 6.

With the massive secrecy surrounding Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, it is always possible that She-Hulk is one of the many surprise characters that will be back before The Multiverse Saga is said and done. Avengers: Doomsday has already finished filming, but reshoots will be happening this spring before the cameras start rolling on Avengers: Secret Wars. The possibility of Maslany filming something in secret is not far-fetched, as many actors who are involved with the MCU regularly shoot scenes and materials for projects under wraps.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law season 1 is available for streaming on Disney+.
