تتجه أنظار العالم إلى مركز المؤتمرات في العاصمة الباكستانية، حيث تنطلق جولة محادثات مرتقبة بين الوفدين الأمريكي والإيراني، في محاولة لبلورة اتفاق ينهي الحرب ويمهد لسلام طويل الأمد، وفق مبادرة باكستانية برزت أخيراً كإطار جامع للطرفين.
وكشفت مصادر في وزارة الخارجية الباكستانية لـ«عكاظ» أن إسلام آباد أكملت كافة استعداداتها لاستضافة المفاوضات التي تنطلق غداً (السبت)، مشيرة إلى إغلاق المنطقة الحمراء التي تحتضن مقرات الحكم والبعثات الدبلوماسية، ومنح الموظفين إجازة رسمية، بالتزامن مع انتشار أمني واسع شمل آلافاً من عناصر الشرطة والقوات المسلحة، في مشهد يعكس حساسية المرحلة ودقة الترتيبات.
«وسيط نزيه».. وتقدير للدور السعودي
وأكدت المصادر أن باكستان تسعى للعب دور «الوسيط النزيه» عبر الحفاظ على مسافة متساوية من الطرفين، وتوفير بيئة تفاوضية مستقرة تضمن انطلاقة سلسة للمحادثات بعيداً عن التعقيدات.
وأشادت إسلام آباد بالدور السعودي في دعم جهود التهدئة، مثمّنة حرص المملكة على ضبط النفس والعمل على منع اتساع رقعة التصعيد، في ظل توازنات إقليمية دقيقة.

وأوضحت المصادر أن الجولة التمهيدية ستركز على تثبيت وقف إطلاق النار لمدة أسبوعين، ووضع جدول أعمال تفصيلي يتناول أبرز الملفات العالقة، وفي مقدمتها البرنامج النووي الإيراني، والصواريخ الباليستية، وأمن الملاحة في مضيق هرمز.
وتأتي هذه الجولة في ظل هدنة هشة تم التوصل إليها بجهود باكستانية، أعلنتها واشنطن وطهران أخيراً، تمهيداً لاتفاق أوسع ينهي الحرب التي خلّفت آلاف الضحايا وأثّرت على استقرار المنطقة وسلاسل الإمداد العالمية.

Sources in the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed to “Okaz” that Islamabad has completed all preparations to host the negotiations that will commence tomorrow (Saturday), noting the closure of the red zone that houses government offices and diplomatic missions, and granting employees an official holiday, coinciding with extensive security deployment that includes thousands of police and armed forces personnel, in a scene that reflects the sensitivity of the phase and the precision of the arrangements.
“An Honest Mediator”.. and Appreciation for the Saudi Role
The sources confirmed that Pakistan seeks to play the role of an “honest mediator” by maintaining an equal distance from both parties and providing a stable negotiating environment that ensures a smooth start to the talks away from complications.
Islamabad praised the Saudi role in supporting de-escalation efforts, appreciating the Kingdom’s commitment to exercising restraint and working to prevent the escalation from widening, in light of delicate regional balances.
Sensitive Agenda.. from “Ceasefire” to “Hormuz”
The sources clarified that the preliminary round will focus on establishing a ceasefire for two weeks and setting a detailed agenda that addresses the most pressing outstanding issues, foremost among them the Iranian nuclear program, ballistic missiles, and the security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
This round comes amid a fragile ceasefire that was reached through Pakistani efforts, announced recently by Washington and Tehran, paving the way for a broader agreement that ends the war which has left thousands of casualties and affected the stability of the region and global supply chains.

The American delegation is headed by Vice President J.D. Vance, who expressed his anticipation for “constructive” negotiations, accompanied by the President’s Special Envoy, Witkoff, in addition to Jared Kushner, who previously participated in indirect negotiation rounds with Tehran.
In contrast, the Iranian delegation is led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, amid indications that Tehran seeks to link the course of the talks to regional issues, particularly the Lebanese arena, which may add further complexity to the negotiating table.
