If you thought Alysa Liu’s 2026 Winter Olympics run was the peak of her crossover moment, you missed what just dropped on TikTok.
Liu, the figure skater who captivated audiences in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo with two gold medals, appeared in a video posted April 7 alongside Icelandic singer Laufey. The two danced to “Stateside” by PinkPantheress — the same song Liu used for her free skate at the Olympics.
Laufey captioned the post, “welcome to the party @alysaxliu 🌼🧡”.
Liu reshared it and wrote: “Madwoman let’s gooo,”.
The post drew reactions from fans, musicians and public figures, including a comment from PinkPantheress herself and a response from the U.S. Figure Skating account.
A Laufey Music Video Is Coming, Starring Alysa Liu
About an hour after the dance clip, Laufey posted another TikTok that revealed what appears to be Liu’s involvement in a music video for Laufey’s newest song “Madwoman,” alongside KATSEYE member Megan Skiendel, with the caption: “MADWOMAN CAST REVEAL PT 1.”
The song is a track from the deluxe version of her album A Matter of Time: The Final Hour, which will be released on April 10, 2026.
For anyone just tuning in, this pairing didn’t come out of nowhere.
