أعلن متحدث باسم الجيش الباكستاني، أن الغارات التي شنها منذ مساء الخميس على أفغانستان، قتلت 274 من مسؤولي ومقاتلي حركة طالبان، لافتا إلى أن الضربات التي شنتها الحركة قتلت 12 جندياً باكستانياً.

إصابة 22 موقعا

وأضاف أن الغارات الجوية على أفغانستان أصابت أهدافاً عسكرية في 22 موقعاً. وقال السفير الباكستاني لدى روسيا فيصل نياز ترمذي، إن إسلام أباد ترحب بأي جهود وساطة روسية محتملة في الصراع مع أفغانستان، مشدداً على أن بلاده لا ترغب في التصعيد. وأعرب عن أمله في ألا يتطور التصعيد مع أفغانستان إلى صراع إقليمي شامل..

فيما أعلن ‌المتحدث باسم ​حركة طالبان ⁠الأفغانية ذبيح ⁠الله مجاهد ، ​الجمعة، إن طالبان تريد ⁠حل النزاع مع ​باكستان ⁠من خلال ​الحوار، وسط ‌احتدام القتال بين الجارتين ‌هذا الأسبوع.

تنفيذ عمليات دقيقة

وأكدت باكستان تنفيذ عمليات عسكرية وصفتها بـ«الدقيقة» داخل الأراضي الأفغانية، مؤكدة أنها جاءت في إطار حقها في الدفاع عن النفس، عقب ما قالت إنها هجمات إرهابية متكررة انطلقت من الأراضي الأفغانية، إلى جانب «استفزازات عسكرية» من قبل حركة طالبان ليلة 26 فبراير.

وذكرت في بيان رسمي، أن القوات الباكستانية استهدفت «مجموعات إرهابية وقواعد دعم لوجستي» داخل أفغانستان، ما أسفر عن خسائر فادحة في صفوفها، في رد على هجمات نفذتها جماعات وصفتها إسلام آباد بـ«فتنة الخوارج» و«فتنة الهندوستان».

وأكدت الحكومة الباكستانية أن تحركاتها تأتي لضمان أمن وسلامة مواطنيها، وأمن المنطقة، مشددة على أن أية استفزازات إضافية من قبل طالبان أو أية محاولات من جماعات مسلحة لتهديد أمن باكستان «ستُواجَه برد محسوب وحاسم ومناسب».

وأعربت إسلام آباد عن رغبتها في السلام والاستقرار الإقليمي، مشيرة إلى أنها انخرطت خلال الفترة الماضية في جهود سياسية ودبلوماسية لمعالجة ما وصفته بتهديد الإرهاب المنطلق من الأراضي الأفغانية.

واعتبرت أن مبادراتها «أسيء فهمها»، ما أدى إلى تصاعد الهجمات، متهمة حركة طالبان، وكذلك الهند، بدعم تلك الجماعات.

اتخاذ إجراءات ملموسة

ودعت باكستان السلطات الأفغانية إلى اتخاذ إجراءات ملموسة وقابلة للتحقق ضد الجماعات المسلحة، مؤكدة أنها تحتفظ بحقها في اتخاذ جميع الإجراءات المناسبة، دفاعاً عن النفس، بما يتوافق مع القانون الدولي وميثاق الأمم المتحدة.

وتوترت العلاقات بين كابول وإسلام آباد بسبب نزاع مستمر منذ فترة طويلة، أثاره اتهام الجانب الباكستاني لكابول بإيواء مسلحين ينفذون هجمات داخل باكستان، ما نفته طالبان، معتبرة أن أمن باكستان مشكلة داخلية.

وأدت الاشتباكات بين البلدين في أكتوبر الماضي إلى مقتل عشرات الجنود، قبل أن تضع المفاوضات حداً للأعمال القتالية.

A spokesperson for the Pakistani army announced that airstrikes launched since Thursday evening on Afghanistan killed 274 officials and fighters of the Taliban movement, noting that the strikes carried out by the movement killed 12 Pakistani soldiers.

22 sites hit

He added that the airstrikes on Afghanistan targeted military objectives in 22 locations. The Pakistani ambassador to Russia, Faisal Niaz Termizi, stated that Islamabad welcomes any potential Russian mediation efforts in the conflict with Afghanistan, emphasizing that his country does not wish for escalation. He expressed hope that the escalation with Afghanistan does not develop into a comprehensive regional conflict.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Afghan Taliban, Zabihullah Mujahid, announced on Friday that the Taliban wants to resolve the dispute with Pakistan through dialogue, amid intensifying fighting between the two neighbors this week.

Conducting precise operations

Pakistan confirmed conducting military operations described as “precise” within Afghan territory, asserting that they were in the context of its right to self-defense, following what it described as repeated terrorist attacks launched from Afghan territory, alongside “military provocations” by the Taliban on the night of February 26.

In an official statement, it mentioned that Pakistani forces targeted “terrorist groups and logistical support bases” inside Afghanistan, resulting in heavy losses among them, in response to attacks carried out by groups that Islamabad described as “the sedition of the Kharijites” and “the sedition of Hindustan.”

The Pakistani government confirmed that its actions aim to ensure the security and safety of its citizens and the security of the region, stressing that any additional provocations by the Taliban or any attempts by armed groups to threaten Pakistan’s security “will be met with a calculated, decisive, and appropriate response.”

Islamabad expressed its desire for peace and regional stability, noting that it has engaged in political and diplomatic efforts in recent times to address what it described as the threat of terrorism emanating from Afghan territory.

It considered that its initiatives have been “misunderstood,” leading to an escalation of attacks, accusing the Taliban, as well as India, of supporting those groups.

Taking tangible actions

Pakistan called on the Afghan authorities to take tangible and verifiable actions against armed groups, asserting that it retains the right to take all appropriate measures in self-defense, in accordance with international law and the United Nations Charter.

Relations between Kabul and Islamabad have soured due to a long-standing dispute, sparked by the Pakistani side’s accusations against Kabul of harboring militants who carry out attacks inside Pakistan, which the Taliban denied, considering that Pakistan’s security is an internal issue.

Clashes between the two countries last October resulted in the deaths of dozens of soldiers, before negotiations put an end to the hostilities.
