Raiders legend Tim Brown is defending a title this week

There is no slowing down when it comes to Tim Brown.

The Heisman Trophy Winner and Pro Football Hall of Famer has only one mode and it is all out. This is unfortunate news for those teeing it up in the James Hardie Pro Football hall of Fame Invitational this week.

Brown won the event in question last year, its inaugural flight. This makes him particularly rare as he is the literal only winner in question. That comes with serious bragging rights.

I was curious how much trash talk comes from Brown in the lead-up to this year’s version of the event. He assured me in our conversation that there is plenty between him and his fellow HOFers.

What makes the James Hardie Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational unique is that it is the Home of Legends. Football heroes are mixed in with PGA Tour Champions players and they are all playing for great causes, besides a title, like Habitat for Humanity, First Tee, and the Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Last year the tournament raised more than $600,000 which was the real victory beyond Tim’s.

Winning on the course matters though and it appears that Tim is set on doing so yet again. He told me that he trusts his mid-irons the most which really means the field is in some trouble.

On the subject of football, Tim holds a lot of conviction there as well. I asked him about a photo he took with fellow Heisman Winner Fernando Mendoza and asked if he was trying to manifest Fernando winding up with the Las Vegas Raiders as they hold the number one overall pick.

Brown was straight and to the point. He said he was declaring it and that if Mendoza isn’t in the silver and black that he won’t be at any more Raiders games (he laughed, but he seemed serious!).

Tim Brown is 100% in everything he does. The golfers in Boca Raton this week better be on notice.
