Quentin Tarantino is one of the most famous (and polarizing) directors in Hollywood history. Some of his most notable projects came in the 90s with hit films like Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and From Dusk Till Dawn, but he’s also directed more recent hits like Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. Tarantino came under fire last year when he publicly criticized actors like Paul Dano and Matthew Lillard, which prompted other stars around the world to come to their defense. Fans are still waiting for information about the next movie Tarantino will direct, which was thought for some time to be a film about a movie critic, but this idea has seemingly been put on ice. He did write the script for a new movie coming out later this year, though.

Tarantino’s last feature writing and directorial effort came in 2019 with the release of the aforementioned Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. It was announced early last year that Tarantino was writing a script for a sequel/spin-off to the film, which would focus on Brad Pitt’s Cliff Booth, not Leonardo DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton. Titled The Adventures of Cliff Booth, Tarantino wrote the script for the offshoot, but he passed on directing the film, selecting David Fincher to step behind the camera. Netflix has acquired the rights to the film for distribution, even releasing the first official teaser back during the Super Bowl, but it’s still unclear when it will be released. The first official HD images from The Adventures of Cliff Booth surfaced online yesterday, and rumors are swirling that the film will be released near the end of the summer. This has not yet been confirmed, though.

How Many Movies Has Quentin Tarantino Directed?

If you count Reservoir Dogs as Quentin Tarantino’s first official feature film, then he’s directed nine movies. After Reservoir Dogs came out in 1992, Tarantino directed Pulp Fiction in 1994, Jackie Brown in 1997, Kill Bill: Vol. 1 in 2003, Kill Bill: Vol. 2 in 2004, Death Proof in 2007, Inglourious Basterds in 2009, Django Unchained in 2015, and Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood in 2019. Over the years, Tarantino has also directed episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and he even directed an episode of ER (starring Noah Wyle) in 1995.
